Caroline Margaret McWilliams (born April 4, 1945) is an American actress best known for her portrayal of Marcy Hill on the television series Benson and Sally on the television series Soap. McWilliams was a regular on the CBS soap, Guiding Light (as Janet Norris) for several years and also appeared in a short-term role (as Tracy DeWitt) on the NBC soap, Another World. Caroline was also on Beverly Hills, 90210 playing Jamie Walters' character Ray Pruit's mom.
Personal life
Although she was born in Seattle, McWilliams grew up in Rhode Island. She was married in 1982 to Michael Keaton, with whom she had a son named Sean. They later divorced.
Caroline has at least once been mistaken for been another actress Carolyn McDermott (a name she has never used), the real actress who played Kelly Washburn in Mad Men.
Like her Benson co-star Missy Gold, who played Katie Gatling on the show, McWilliams is left-handed.
Career
McWilliams is one of Hollywood's most experienced actresses, playing only supporting roles. Her television appearances have occurred in every decade from the 1960s thru the 2000s. As a regular on Guiding Light (Janet Mason Morris, 1969-1975). She was a regular on Soap beginning in the second 1978 season, then moved to Benson (as a different character) when that series premiered in 1979. She remained on Benson until 1981:the storyline stated that her character left to get married.
After this she went on to star in one-time appearances in comedies and dramas as well as appearing in numerous made-for-television movies[1] McWilliams has appeared in 2 major movies:

- Mermaids (Carrie) - released 1990
Caroline has also had some success in directing musical theatre. Most recently:
